A Destination Wedding at Château Naudou, South of France: Gary & Micia

Golden light, vineyard views and an emotional ceremony in the South of France. How we filmed and photographed Gary & Micia at Château Naudou, and what to think about if you are planning your own wedding abroad.

Some weddings ask you to travel, and Gary & Micia’s was worth every mile. They chose Château Naudou in the South of France: classic French elegance, vineyard views, and the kind of golden late-summer light you simply cannot manufacture in a studio.

They booked photography and videography together, which meant Lauren and I could work as one team across the whole day. The photographs and the film tell the same story, rather than two crews competing for the same moments.

The setting

Château Naudou gives a wedding room to breathe. The ceremony space, the grounds and the vineyard beyond meant we could move from intimate documentary coverage in the morning to wide, cinematic frames as the sun dropped.

Destination venues like this reward a slower visual style. Long golden-hour portraits, candid coverage of guests enjoying the warmth, and architecture that earns its place in the frame.

The day itself

The ceremony was genuinely emotional, the kind where you check your focus twice because you know the couple will rewatch this moment for decades. From there the day built naturally through drinks on the lawn to an unforgettable evening reception under the stars.

Gary & Micia’s finished gallery ran to 630 edited photographs alongside their films. Their trailer has now been watched more than 124,000 times on YouTube.

Thinking about a destination wedding?

I’m based in London and travel for weddings across the UK and abroad. For destination bookings the logistics matter: travel days either side, scouting the venue in the light you will actually shoot in, and a plan for the heat, cameras included.

If you are planning a wedding in France or anywhere else in Europe, get in touch early. Date availability drives everything, and travel weddings book further ahead than UK ones.

Louis is exceptionally talented at what he does. He has been our chosen photographer for multiple business events over the years and never fails to deliver incredible photos for our business. In addition, Louis was also first choice as my photographer for my wedding where he and his partner worked together to showcase our wedding through both photo and video, providing my family everlasting memories of our big day!
